Taking a Leap of Faith

Now may be the time to find your true passion and purpose

When is the perfect time to rethink what you are doing with your life? You may have asked yourself something like, “What is my reason for being on the planet?” or “Should I do something more fulfilling with my career?”

Loving what you do, and having complete passion for it will bring you greatest rewards in life. If you currently have a hard time distinguishing between work and play that is a good measure that you have passion for your current career. If not, it is not too late to discover your passion and purpose. You may have a particular gift that you were born with, a talent or specific experience that is inspiring and engaging for you.

People ask me why I chose to become a Results Coach and I can honestly say, “I didn’t choose it…it chose me!” One day it became so abundantly clear, there was a growing urge building inside of me, and I finally said “YES”. You may feel that urge growing inside of you too. Yet, if you are like most people, the fear of making a change can keep you from realizing what your passion and purpose is in life. Only to realize after a few years, the urge still persists.

My passion and purpose is about inspiring people to have the greatest vision they can for their lives. At one point, I gave my life to this purpose by declaring my absolute commitment to spend my life inspiring people. Within about a year, I could see that something was definitely lining up people and events for me. I thank my lucky stars for having the courage to not only listen to that calling and to also to follow it by taking consistent action in the face of the unknown. At the bottom of this article I’ve included the personal declaration that led to my taking a “Leap of Faith”.

For me, I soon understood what the term “Leap of Faith” really meant. I had to believe in myself and have enough passion for my purpose that I was willing to go the distance. That means I had to be “all in”. No matter what!

Before I make it look too easy let’s cover some important points. The process of following your heart can be like going out into the wilderness and “roping in a wild horse”. You will need to be prepared to do the serious work to make your passion your life’s work? You may fail before you succeed. We know how constraining the fear of failure is yet you may not realize that fear of success can be just as tough on you. Are you willing to learn from failure as you figure out how to be successful?

There are many examples in history of famous people not having the best track record on their road to success, yet they went on to be extremely successful. Bottom line, the path to success is filled with surprises, challenges, obstacles, as well as life’s usual twists and turns. Do you have the commitment, determination, and courage to get through them?

When you can look at your life and see that you are truly living your passion and purpose, doors begin to open, people line up and impulses and events become in sync with what is next on your path. Is there something you “should” do? No, it is all for your own fulfillment in life. You may be wondering, “What if I don’t discover my passion and purpose? Keep looking as you focus on what you value most in life. It is never too late to find it!
